Susan Boyle (48) performed live on American television, then enjoyed a meet-and-greet with fans at the Rock Centre cafe in New York’s Rockefeller Centre.
Moments after Boyle was presented with a patchwork quilt knitted together by hundreds of people from 28 countries including the UK, US, Australia, Mexico, Japan and Antarctica, she became increasingly withdrawn and started to tremble and suck her thumb. Then, visibly overcome with emotion, she bowed her head and began to cry.
Just as suddenly as she broke into tears, Boyle suddenly jumped up and started dancing. Almost seems bipolar. A spokesman for Miss Boyle said:
"She was just overjoyed and extremely touched with the reception she had had from everyone in America."
It seems Miss Boyle is having a great deal of difficulty dealing with her new found fame, which isn’t a huge surprise considering her very humble beginnings.
Boyle’s CD is expected to sell somewhere between 400,000 to 500,000 copies just this week, making it the fastest selling album of the year and outstripping some of the world’s biggest stars including Robbie Williams and Mariah Carey.
Simon Cowell is even said to be preparing to film a movie about Boyles life.
Besides all the success Boyle is now experiencing she also has the unwavering support of her fans, and admirers from around the world.
